On the 8th of January in the “Pushkin House” in London there took place the presentation of our new book Why The Bear Has No Tail. This is a book of Russian folk tales that had been collected and illustrated by Elena Polenova back at the end of the 19th century. It has been published in English, in the original translation by Netta Peacock, writer and friend of Elena Polenova. The editor of the book is researcher Louise Hardiman. Thanks to her the original illustrations had been recently rediscovered in the Oxfordshire home of Netta Peacock’s descendants. And now, 100 years later, the book was finally published!
