Word from the president of the association Vasily Polenov
Each of us throughout our life takes care of our heritage with old photos, legends, testimonies and objects, inherited from previous generations. But all together, we also have memories in common, a “collective memory”. What is our history, the one we all share? It is embodied in objects and works of art, testimonies of artists and memories of contemporaries, in short everything that is to be transmitted or exhibited, in a collection or hung on a wall. Studies, exchanges between museums and private collections, unusual ideas of the new generation also forge this collective memory and what is today called “the cultural space”. This dynamic space, which requires the participation and support of all to flourish.
